Ahhh why are people so dunce?
Sick of stupid comments on seasonal dates which have zero scientific nor ancient basis. "Regarding the Summers beginning in the southern hemisphere" I'm currently studying undergrad physics - 'Archeoastronomy' and base seasonal tides on the planetary movements as real druids do. The 21st of dec is mid winter in north or yule/mid summer or litha in southern hemispheres respectively and not the equinox! The equinoxes are either autumn or spring and neither are in december regardless of the hemisphere of the observer. In the southern hemisphere by the time we hit 21st dec it is the peak of the summer or midsummer/litha - not a bloody spring or autumn equinox (which are ostara or mabon respectively). The next decline is autumn which starts to turn feb 1st in the southern hemisphere bringing the slow decline of autumn which then is fully noticed at mid autumn or Mabon at march the 21st then samhain winter may 1st, then yule midwinter in the southern h. June 21st respectively as the north pole/north of the equator goes into litha or mid summers official beginning minus or adding a day according the year or procession of the celestial sphere. The 21st of december marks the midsummer in Australia (not beginning - one cannot have a beginning & mid at the same time) and the northern h. of the equator marks mid winter or yule (not beginning of winter or an equinox) The equinoxes have jack to do with summer or winter anywhere on this globe.
